Code Enforcement/Litter Control

The Code Enforcement Department of Ouachita Parish is responsible for monitoring properties in the unincorporated areas of the parish both public and private property, commercial and residential, to ensure that there are no health or safety hazards or nuisances that might endanger the public.  These code requirements are the minimum standards the parish has adopted to protect the interests and eliminate hazards that could affect public safety, health, and general welfare.  The Parish’s codes and ordinances address a wide variety of areas, including littering, dangerous buildings, high grass & weeds, junk & junk cars, and sign violations.  The parish’s ordinances can be found online at http://www.municode.com
