On the November 6th election ballot, there is a renewal for a 19.110 Mills property tax to fund the operations of the Ouachita Parish Fire Department (OPFD). OPFD currently responds to an average of 8,500 requests for service including fire and medical emergency calls in Ouachita Parish each year. The requests for service have increased by an average of five percent each year and that trend is expected to continue. OPFD has consistently operated within and below operational budget providing a level of service that has increased residential and commercial fire protection value to each structure. OPFD pledges to continue an elite level of service to the community. Any information requests should be directed to the Fire Chief’s office by calling (318)325-1621. Please vote on November 6th, 2018. Early voting begins October 23rd, 2018.
